OUR STORY

Borne out of eating Mexican street food on the West Coast of America and back packing in Mexico in the 1990’s. Salsa Viva Cantina has been serving Mexican street food since 2013.

The Cantina started out as a street food stall by friends Mark and James, trading at several local markets. Initially at Worthing’s Emporium, then on to Brighton’s well-regarded Streetdiner, amongst others. The restaurant opened in Feb 2017, run by Mark and his sister Sue.

Trips to Mexico in 2018 & 2019, taking cooking lessons from a local in Oaxaca, has added that extra element of authenticity to our menu.

The menu offers a wide range of burritos (served wrapped in foil in a basket, cantina style), tacos, quesadillas and side dishes, plus desserts.

All the ingredients are sourced locally where possible. There are several options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets.
